Inkakai are a masked and anonymous sextet of professional musicians who have previously worked with Max Martin, Lordi and Steve Vai. They describe their music as Imperial Core, sharply dynamic alternative rock with nu-metal and electronic music influences.

Their trademark black and red colour scheme symbolizes their name Inkakai 陰火会 (shadow, fire, society) originating from Japanese legends' onibi ghost lights – spirits born from corpses that have become fire.
