Our plan was to continue our journey on the Austrian Road in Katon-Karagay in #Kazakhstan. However, bad weather conditions & the resulting inability to drive on the roads 🏞️put a stop to our plans. So we enjoyed the nature & view of the Altai mountains for a last time. 🏔️

Now we reached our destination in the Katon-Karagay district of #Kazakhstan: the Berel Museum Reserve. In this remote area, numerous Saka kurgans from the 5th-3rd centuries BC were found. The numerous and detailed gold jewelry of the buried people & horses was very impressive.

Sometimes the area in Katon-Karagay in easternmost #Kazakhstan 🏔️is so deserted that it is not surprising to find only horses as guests at a bus stop 🚏. But the unplanned stop gives us more time to enjoy the scenery. 😍
