Impossible mince has entirely replaced beef in our pasta sauces and Mexican dishes. Soaks up the flavours around it well and has that familiar chew/bounce of minced beef. But it really can’t stand on its own. My mum even made some impossible meat pies for us and they were excellent.
As for the chicken substitutes in Australia, no real winners yet. Best we’ve had is rissoles that are 50% chicken.
The big takeaway for me is that maybe we should cut down on animal protein and have more plant protein in our diets.
We feed livestock almost as much plant food as we do ourselves (6m2 km vs 8m2 km). Not to mention the space taken up for grazing uses most of our agricultural land.

I once worked on a project to calculate tariffs on goods for an importer. It was a massive job with lots of edges cases. And that was under normal conditions.
My gut feel is that some, maybe even most of this can be worked in, but there is absolutely going to shit going under the radar because it’s too hard, too confusing or out right contradictory.
