2/25/2026: High-speed ICE chase injures 2 bystander children in rideshare

On 02/25/2026 around 8:20 to 8:30 a.m., ICE agents during a targeted operation tried to stop a van in Newark. The driver kept driving and ICE agents followed, and the van crashed into other vehicles in the Clinton Hill area. Reporting on the exact crash intersection varies. NJ1015 describes the crash at Clinton Avenue and 10th Street after the van left a stop on Shanley Avenue.

ICE agent who killed Keith Porter identified

  The Keith Porter Case ICE agent Brian Palacios shot and killed 43-year-old Keith Porter Jr. on December 31, 2025 in Northridge while off duty. Federal authorities say the agent responded to what they described as an “active shooter situation.” Porter’s friends and family dispute that account and say he was firing shots into the air to celebrate the New Year and nothing more.
