I realized why I feel like I'm getting worse at clicking on the computer. The border between windows is usually a shadow, and that just vanishes over any app running dark mode.

If I get tired of "staring into a lightbulb" while programming, I might try a dark high contrast theme. Glowing shadows and light borders might defeat the purpose of 'dark', but they have a sweet retro look to them.

So first #wordpress blocks #WPEngine from updating plugins on the plugin repository. Then publicly releases a vulnerability like a day later. But WPEngine has fixed their user's plugin access with a mirror or something.

So...now the only way to keep *all* your plugins updated is to be on WPEngine. Wordpress.org has in effect blocked every *other* host from some vulnerability updates.

The company I work for uses #WPEngine for most of our hosting. Boss sent me Matt's article about 'chopped up Wordpress', and I told him we don't really use the revisions, but I use Git update every day, so meh.

Then WordPress.org blocks plugin updates from WPEngine customers? Security updates included?

Before I merely preferred WPEngine, now I hate WordPress.org.

Stashpad opened up to a login page instead of my notes. I'm so tired of local apps that hold your work hostage after an automatic update.

I just need something slightly more organized than Windows Sticky Notes, and $96/yr is just too high for an app I plan to run locally.

Turns out one of the founders also worked at Nextdoor, which explains the "Start strong, then immediately go downhill" philosophy.
