pimax 5k super driver super soon???? #VR

I just discovered one of the most horrid things about Pimax while reverse engineering my 5K Super.

So Pimax advertises their headsets for wide FOV. As such, they need rectangular panels to achieve that, i.e. each eye has a rectangular viewport (see below).

I copied the values Pimax sends to SteamVR into my driver and, good lord. They tell SteamVR to render a bloody square. Which I assume they then crop.

HALF THE SQUARE IS UNUSED! THAT'S ATROCIOUS!

Is this how they implemented per eye vertical IPD?
Instead of adjusting the eye positions??
