In this day and age, watching this gentleman raw dog a basic 3D rendering algorithm using nothing but Emacs and vanilla JavaScript is both an amazing sight, and an inspiring act of rebellion.

💜 A year ago today we lost one of the kindest, most-generous developers in the Mac community, Martin Pilkington (pilky). He was known for and worked on many projects over the years, but Coppice was his labor of love. I have been working the past couple of months on rebuilding Coppice for macOS 26, Liquid Glass, and the App Store, and I'm thrilled that today is the day I get to release it into the world — with all of its previously-'Pro' features available for free
over a year ago, i gave a talk at the xoxo conference about a mural, a mcdonald’s, and a man. (but it was also secretly about life, and legacy, and meaning.)
finally, i’m blogging the full story, with behind-the-scenes details, and a video of the talk.
i hope you enjoy this read. https://cabel.com/wes-cook-and-the-mcdonalds-mural/

@stroughtonsmith love that approach. There’s something pretty elegant about signaling clearly what the app “should” cost and make it recurring, even if you’re willing to giving it away for free. It’s also fully reversible, which is nice.
I guess the only downside is the App Store listing saying that the app includes IAP which might spook some folks but probably worth the trade-off.
My new invoicing app Tally is now live on the App Store!
Now that I’m contracting I have to send invoices to clients, and the existing solutions felt either too clunky or more full featured than I needed, so I made my own.
