Call for DC33 Hotline volunteers!!! A good candidate might simply be that one person all of their friends come to when they need someone to talk to. This will be a full-time con goon position, working a full shift each of the 4 days of con. Please contact me to interview! 🙂


The DEF CON hotline is an organization that handles calls about code of conduct violations and follows the same structure and teaching as a regional suicide hotline. The reason for such an early volunteer round up, is that we have a training program that will teach you everything you need to know! #defcon #DEFCON33

DEF CON has experienced a network interruption. Hotline is back up using a workaround, we are now working to catch up on existing and new calls/texts/signal/etc. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

If you have a non-US phone number and want to contact the DEF CON Hotline via text, please use signal or discord to message us. We are not able to reply to international SMS due to technical limitations. Incoming voice calls from international numbers will be answered.

@patridge @defcon Hi Adam! Unfortunately between DC31 and DC32 we had to re-create the signal account on a fresh device ( earlier today, ~6hrs ago). If you look it up fresh by phone number, it should work now, but if you try to use an existing chat you had with DEF CON Hotline from last year, it will fail. Sorry! In the future we will attempt to keep the signal account active from year to year so this doesn't happen again.
