I added Paypal to the list of payment processors on Liberapay. Before it was only Stripe, but they send me a mail that it needs more info, and i'm constantly having problems with it, so if this doesn't get resolved by at least november 10, i'll disable it.

If I disable Stripe, it will have some effect on payments. I guess most important is if someone has automatically renewing donations, that wont be possible any more. And donations will possibly be less anonymous (PayPal always allows donors and recipients to see each other's names and email addresses). For the rest, I don't think there's gonna be big problems, but a full list of differences between the two can be found at https://liberapay.com/about/payment-processors

The platform to go through remains Liberapay, so no extra accounts are required for donating.

Ayt, I'll start the upgrade soon! Don't be surprised when things go down. It's a big one, so it may take some time. I'll let it know when I finish.

But also; I'll power down the server in 5 minutes or so. By default the rescaling didn't double the disk size, but I see we can actually do that without extra cost, so I'll just do that. The downside is that down scaling won't be easily possible any more, but they deprecated that plan any how, so it doesn't matter in this specific case.

Alright! We now have double the resources 🎉 If things still go awry, pls do let me know! In hindsight, I should've done this this afternoon already, but well, live and learn and all that.

Today I installed a second instance, but it seems the server is hitting it's limits. I'll see if I can upgrade/rescale it. I was already thinking of changing the setup, but hoped it would at least hold on for a while longer until I could figure out more precisely what to do.

Anyhow, I have no idea what to expect when upscaling the server, but if things go down for a while, don't be alarmed!
