Tabletop.social has been update and is now running Mastodon 4.5.0.
That means that we have "Quote toot" enabled.
Sadly they also come enabled by default, and you would need to disable it yourself if you want to avoid people using it without your consent.
Head to the Preferences -> "Posting defaults".
The 2nd drop down "Who can quote" then can to be set to "Just me".
❗ Don't forget to hit the save button at the top of the page for the change top take effect.

@Canageek very aware that the bridge was a way to avoid being in direct contact with (and being counted in) their user base.
As you said, in the end, people that really need access to the network really need an actual account.
@noboardgames hi, first apologies for missing the previous message in august.
The rules are very much the same.
We wanted to go over them, update them and maybe make them more concise, but that hasn't happen yes.
Do shout if you want an invite based on these rules.
And do ask if you have any questions!
@V I do understand the conundrum you are in and I hear that it sucks to be cut off from friends.
We are big fan of the people having multiple accounts across the fedi, it does helps have a resilient network.
And while I understand if you might to leave because of that, you are of course always welcome to keep an alt here or invite people over.
On moderation, the sad truth is that Gargron is not really keen on giving admins (that care about their community) better tools.
We'd love to have more tools between "slap on the wrist with nonsensical UI/UX" and "nuke it all".
Selfishly, the "nuke it all" does provide the safer, less time taxing option, so we choose it often.
Heads up: no admin will ask you to click a link to "verify" your account.
There is no such things as verified accounts.
We might ask you for a photo a pet in your life.
Or to share the name of a board game you enjoy.
Or a picture of a cool rock you found.
And that's like, just something you might want to consider doing, like that would be cool if you want to share that with us, no pressure.
(and do report the scammers if they are in your mentions)

Hi and nice to meet you, I hope you enjoy your stay, I'll try to be more responsive for the follow up quesiton and request you might have.
Monads we are probably never ever going to unblock.
I had the receipts, deleted them and that was probably 2 phones ago.
There are a few more instances that also got a block around the same time as Monads for being the same group of prople (not all for colorisms, but they did all take part in different kind of harassment campaigns), which will not get unblocked.
I've not looked, because I'm tired, but there are few handles/nicknames from the same groups that would get blocked on sight. So certain account and their 30+ alts are also blocked.
akko.wft is a another kind of moderation reasons, the more usual reason we block servers.
Its one of those vector for the worse possible content of the fediverse to make its way to us.
They don't seem to moderate, if anything their "Local Bubble Instances" is made of people we actively moderate.
The least damaging qualification I have for that loose group of instances in that side of the fedi is "tiring edgelords".
Their really unhealthy obsessions with avatars of cute anime children doesn't help them in any way.
That said, maybe there are other ways to keep your friend/friends in the loop.
I'm happy to extend an invite to your friend(s) if that helps you.
