@awkwardlefty_cj I think that’s one of the things that’s made Twitter so toxic for such a long time, totally populated by stresses out overstimulated people lurching from one crisis to another and feeling they have to comment on everything. I’m as guilty as anyone

@hivemindrecords I love the centrality of CWs here. They make it really easy to choose what I read while I'm scrolling. If I see a post that's about a topic I'm not in the mood to engage with at the moment, I can just not see it. Whoever came up with collapsing tweets that are CW'd is brilliant.

@awkwardlefty_cj totally agree! And certainly we all have periods when we need to disengage from all the madness for our own sakes, even though it’s sometimes hard to recognise ourselves.

I’m new to Mastodon, as many of us are.
There is existing etiquette here and it doesn’t seem hard to follow, and a lot of it seems sensible.
If you’re gonna talk about politics - put a Content Warning on the post so people can avoid it if they wish. Seems sensible - look at the trouble not doing this caused on Tw*tt*r & FB.
Put a description on photos, not hard and helps those not privileged with sight.
Come on people, let’s respect something good!
