@MrHedmad to speed things up further, I'd use rayon parallel iterators to run the calculation linewise on all cores.
In #Rust I'd use the CSV crate https://docs.rs/csv/1.2.1/csv
The csv::Reader can read line by line with the records() function which return an Iterator.
Then I'd simply map() or fold() further linewise calculations.

Warum nicht aktuelle Features wie ANSI Farben nutzen wenn sie verfügbar sind. Wir sitzen halt nicht mehr vor Bernsteinmonitoren.
Davon abgesehen, dass die Unix Coreutilities auch nur eine Sammlung völlig inkonsistenter Tools ist, die alle verschiedene Commandline Konventionen haben, ich sag nur 'tar'.

@BuenosNachos Ich bin momentan leider privat im Crunchmode (Hausrenovierung und Umzug), d.h. die ganzen schönen 8bit Hobbyprojekte liegen zur Zeit etwas brach.
Es lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall, mal ein bisschen im Technologiestack nach unten zu wandern und #6502 oder #z80 #assembly zu lernen.
Bei Gelegenheit stell ich hier vielleicht mal ein WIP Gameboy-Spiel vor, wer mag darf gerne daran mithacken.
