hit with a beautiful dream of adansey D/s bathtub sex... those guys were my best blorbos

It’s been a weird couple days; I keep running into this talking point that “journalists won’t use Mastodon unless we incentivize engagement farming”.

Meanwhile I’m having a *great* experience here, because I use it to— I dunno— actually talk to people and form relationships?

I reject the premise that mastodon isn’t useful for reporters. I think it’s more accurate that modern news orgs use social media in purely extractive ways.

You might get more reporters that way, but you won’t like them.

You can spot people who've never had a traditional office corporate job because they emphasize the "nobody actually wants AI!" point too much... you have no idea how much the average Gen X worker with a bullshit email job (or a real job that they need to treat like a bullshit job due to company culture) wants Copilot to go over all their spreadsheets/powerpoint presentations
my tumblrs never hit more than i think 100 followers (and i'm fine with that, that's just my digital scrapbook, i just need a place to paste pictures and occasionally word vomit) and i've never even had a post hit more than idk a couple hundred notes except for the few nsfw blogs i made where i occasionally publish some incredibly low effort erotica/horny shitposts, those always do numbers. i'm only relatable when i'm horny.
Fumny (read: infuriating) that the whole AI hate has people on tumblr/fedi of all places saying that not being able to properly convey tone in an email means you're an idiot and you should just be able to learn how to do it lmao
This is what they took from you (they = restrictive content rules that discourage people with no consistent monetary incentive to put dirty stuff on tumblr + rising job instability mixed with side gig culture)
An onlyfans model I follow on tumblr (rightfully!) complained about people asking her for free custom nudes in DMs and said something along the lines of "do you think i do this for the love of the game" and man it just reminded me of when tumblr was full of people who did it for the love of the game
Solo: Illya, are you free?
Do you have a Substack newsletter that you wish was NOT a Substack newsletter (for whatever reason)? I’ve just spent about six weeks learning how to overcome all the obstacles they put in the way of leaving and would love to help. Let’s talk.
