In episode 3 of Heroic Beasts we re-visited Rocket Raccoon #1 (1985) written by Bill Mantlo with art by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola- his first penciling work in comics! Up until Rocket was re-introduced in 2007 in the Annihilation: Conquest storyline, Mignola's 1985 design stood for 22 years as the quintessential version of the character.
