So the current plan is that despite paying $8 for Blue you still get to see ads. Oh wow, good luck with that.

On the other hand, that paywall bypass idea might indeed be something worth paying for, but I just can't see how he wants to get serious publishers to cooperate with him.

I'm not even sure if it's a hot-take or a common knowledge already, but I've seen some people using this as an anti-Compose argument in some recent conversations.

(am I now sub... tooting?)

So where are all your #androiddev hot takes?

I can start.

You actually don't need to pass Parcelables in compose navigation - strings are just enough. Desire to pass Parcelables is unnecessarily porting the old way of thinking, where you passed them in intent extras / fragment args.

Store your data elsewhere and just pass IDs and query params. Web folks do it all the time and they're fine.

I don't think mastodon will become a mainstream platform, but it might become a nice place to read some nerd content in peace. Twitter is so exhausting with its hyper-optimization for engagement.

Glad the Android client is open-soueced too, I'm actually quite excited about finding some bugs so that I can contribute.

Let's hope this works.
