It just went on and on. I didn't really understand what this was at 7, it just appeared to be an breathless stream of amazing melodies which ran into each other. I *could* tell that these were awesome singers though.

This compilation only takes us as far as 'For Your Eyes Only' and whilst there have clearly been a number of bangers since then, all the tracks that established the template are already in place.
Dramatic, sexy, loud and largely untroubled by restraint, this was an awe-inspiring collection to 8-year old ears and still is today.
40-ish years later, Carly Simon's 'Nobody does it better' vocal remains the theme to beat.
#1 I was talking about music with some young people on a long drive this weekend, and identifying times when you first felt really *inside* an album.
I lived in Kenya for a couple of years when I was 7, and the only three cassettes we had accounted for 95% of the music I heard.
