Half Ogg, half Weatherwax, & happy to dispense advice as long as you treat it as though it came from singing rats. Be good or be cussed at. 💜

the hand-me-down plates I got from a friend are dying, and the quest to buy new ones has turned hilarious.
apparently humans are to decorate only in beige, grey and white now -- at least, those are the "normal adult" options. I think colors are illegal or something?
anyway, never mind the regular stores then. Am I going with deadpool, red tartan, hello kitty or whatever's on sale in the halloween section? hmmmmm
Okay this is a bonkers question & I'll ask around IRL too, but I would love to know how to *properly* say "eighty eight" in Chinese.
This is for UN-dog-whistling purposes: A kungfu form I study & lead regularly has 88 moves and is widely known (among kungfu nerds) as "the 88" or "the Yang 88" -- which don't sound great today, thanks to The Worst People. Saying it in Mandarin or Cantonese (it's done in both) would be a nice workaround, I think.
If I figure it out elsewhere I'll report back!
I've got a bunch of fun projects to share soon, here's the first: "Forever Peanuts."
Styrofoam peanuts never do seem to go away, do they? So I thought it would be nice to make them even more permanent.
I melted E-waste hard drive cases and household waste to make these lost-foam aluminum peanuts during our last Otis Street Arts Project aluminum pour.
They will debut in "Future Finds" at Bathers Library in Oakland CA, opening 1/17 5-8PM. https://futurefinds.cargo.site/
My 76yo parent wasn't sure video games were actually worthy art/entertainment, so I asked them to imagine writing a story that the reader edited in real-time every time they read it -- rearranging the order of scenes, skipping some parts, etc. -- and how you'd make sure it was a good story every (unique) time, that your main message got across, and so forth.
GREAT convo and now they (jokingly? I think?) want a gaming PC. Yay/whathaveIdone
