I am "the Heather from the website" and the BBC has called me the "Queen of Extended Techniques".

I play in a duo with Eva Zöllner, as well as with Apartment House. I also offer a nice home recording package.

I speak German (reasonably well), French (awkwardly) and learning Spanish (slowly).

I love so much about #Notion but I think my favourite thing (if not my most used thing) is my Second Brain. Haven't had it long but it's now an essential partner when I'm doing any reading. #secondbrain

I've been very, very casually learning Spanish for a year now, and while I really can't speak it yet, my comprehension is hugely improved after two weeks in Colombia in September. And I've found myself completely addicted to two productivity YouTubers. When I finally am able to speak it'll only be about productivity, self-care, and personal development.

Happy #caturday from Vera and her favourite toy, with both their tales in the air. Our first Mastadon #caturday!

(she can't get enough of this fish, which flops for ten seconds when you touch it, and it's a life saver at this time of year when she gets hyper but doesn't want to go outside - otherwise there is much "playful" nipping of my ankles)

I should also say it was a really fun workshop, just quite painful.

But I do play through pain quite a bit of the time. Because my work tends to be project-based, I'm never really in very consistent shape, as in between projects I'm doing admin, TEMPO, other non-playing work, and maybe only doing 1-2 hours (versus the 6 I'll do on a project day) of playing.

Last week, I was playing for an ensemble conducting workshop. The clarinet parts were non-stop, and every conductor needed to try every bit multiple times. I was also doubling on Eb. I played through quite a lot of pain and I'm pretty sure my lip is _still_ swollen even though since I got back a week ago today I've been taking it a bit easy (max 1 hour a day playing). Mildly concerning... #woodwind #clarinet
