Almost showtime

Today I repurposed a set of 2x4s that I once used as a makeshift canoe rack to bolster the rack and cargo basket on the roof of my car. The eyelets are left over from the old rack, and are mostly there so the old holes don't whistle.

I have never had much luck with growing plants on my kitchen windowsill. It's even south-facing! I thought about it and decided the trouble was I was using greenhouse-grown herbs in white plastic pots. Too much shock. So I got these black stone pots, and tried from seed. Doing great so far. I have two cilantro and two basil. The cilantro has already helped me with a curry.

Started some seeds on my day off. Top tray is tomatoes, middle is jalapenos, bottom is lettuce.

I kept my streak going another year. Worth it. Think I will try for another 365 days.

Less than a year ago. So grateful I got to see an eclipse with my friends.
