After twenty or so internal revisions (not counting the PhD research and thesis) over the course of two and half years, I am a published author in a peer-reviewed journal!

Březina, D. (2026). A method for studying the contextual similarity of characters in Cyrillic, Devanagari, and Latin scripts and exploration of the effects of typeface design and expertise. Visual Cognition, 1–21. https://doi.org/10.1080/13506285.2026.2627306

Thanks to the U of Reading, it is also open access, i.e. free to download.

Thank you to our clients for working on great projects with us, for coming back, for recommending us to others and making all of this possible!

**15 years of hana+nils – Celebrating our studio's birthday**

We started in 2011 as the Studio for Web and Text Design, as communication designer and art and media historian, as husband and wife. Today, we are the Studio for Design, Büro für Gestaltung. Our goal of creating concise design, embracing both web and print, remains.

Wir möchten uns bei allen bedanken, mit denen wir in den vergangenen Jahren tolle Projekte machen durften, die wiedergekommen sind, uns weiterempfohlen haben und all das möglich gemacht haben!

**15 Jahre hana+nils – Unser Büro feiert Geburtstag!**

We’re also soft-launching our Plugins site https://kirby.hananils.de/ along with these first V5 versions (built with V5 of course), showcasing a whole slew of updated documentation alongside not-quite-updated-yet documentation as well! It’s frankly a bit exhilarating and unsettling at the same time to put this out in the wild as a work-in-progress, but you’re very welcome to poke around.

This fall, we’re planning to release commercial Plus plugins for V5, covering larger updates to already existing ones and two new plugins:

Typographer, https://kirby.hananils.de/plugins/typographer,
Designer, https://kirby.hananils.de/plugins/designer 🎉 new,
Tiles, https://kirby.hananils.de/plugins/tiles,
Tracker, https://kirby.hananils.de/plugins/tracker,
Icons, https://kirby.hananils.de/plugins/icons 🎉 new

After finally "owning my web“, I just finished writing my first article. It's about how I build modular websites with @getkirby

Modular Kirby websites · Medienbäcker Thomas Günther

Most of my websites are built with modular content blocks. It just makes sense: clients can easily rearrange content and create new pages. Kirby’s Blocks Field is great for that.
