Halffloor is back with another round of 60-second sound art, and in honor of the summer of 2025 it is a hot one: Assar Tallinger’s ”Populistens berättelse,” or translated into English, ”The Populist’s Tale.” Assar is a full-fledged visual artist and composer based in Stockholm, keeping his x-ray vision trained on the barricades of uncompromising art in all its various forms. Treat yourselves to a free Swedish lesson by clicking the link or surf on down to halffloor.com.

Season #9! We now have twelve new names, bringing us to more than 150 pods over the coming months. In two weeks, the bi-weekly Halffloor release cycle will start ticking again! In the meantime, let us introduce this glimmering list:

Halffloor closes this season with a hissing finale: a one-minute cakewalk sonic blast from the enigmatic Paris-based designer Micha Leante.
In “spray can”, the delicate breath of pressure unfurls with cinematic precision—each burst of sound suspended like mist. A whisper of velocity. Sound meets surface, sharp and fleeting, leaving only a trace! This is pod no. 141! — the final drop before Halffloor returns in two weeks with a new collection simmering just out of reach. www.halffloor.com

So Spring seems to have sprung (at least equinoxically, and if you live in the northern hemisphere). This means that things are looking up! And while you are looking up, you should also remember to listen up, because Halffloor has a doozy for you this week: the more than estimable, erstwhile San Diegan Ess Whiteley has just graced us with the vowel-challenged but delectable ”HYPRTRMPT”, which can best be described as 60 seconds of unadulterated ”now”. @esswhiteley

Saturday, March 8, 2025. We proudly present pod #139, a dreamy self-talk, an intimate message.
The fabulous artist and voice behind the sonic work "Dream_1" is filmmaker and painter Mirjam Baker from Cologne!

Heres's an excerpt of the translated vocal text:
"OK ( yawn) and then there was this paramedic guy
who actually just wanted to see his girlfriend (yawn)
…maybe she was somewhere....ahhhhh..."
