Tbh I still feel the biggest problem with the Fediverse as a concept is security. For example, to read direct messages between users on different servers, exploiting the less secure one is sufficient. The more instances, the more chance a sysadmin doesn’t properly secure one.

@ezbn Ooh, I see. I totally forgot unlisted-yet-not-private posts were a thing. And I suppose that replies to unlisted posts are automatically unlisted.
Also just discovered that Mastodon has Direct-Messaging-on-the-timeline (I think). It's been a while since I used this before this week.

I have no idea what the July update means.
