Every month, I buy a BIPOC/LGBTQ+ title from my local library's wish list. This month's contribution: the complete "Poppy War" trilogy by R.F. Kuang. Support your local library! Check and see if they have their own wish list.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility! In honor of this auspicious day, join me in supporting your favorite trans-oriented charity. Mine is: www.thetrevorproject.org
I wish there was some way to stop companies posting ghost jobs on LinkedIn. I keep getting one spammed at me, for over a month now, and despite it being a “new listing,” it’s the exact same position that I (very well qualified to do it!) applied to. I can’t apply to it twice. I refuse to believe that in over a month, they can’t find someone to do this job. So what do they get from constantly reposting it?
I listened to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Juno” for the first time today and my cultured ass thought “ah, a reference to Roman mythology. The queen of the gods. Excellent.” Then my dumb ass realized it was actually a reference to the 2007 cinematic classic starring Elliot Page. I tried.
I took a walk in the rain today and remembered when I was in college and my friends and I ran around outside during a storm. We got absolutely soaked and had the best time. I’m unfortunately not in touch with those people anymore so here I am, telling the internet about it while my socks dry.
LinkedIn keeps urging me to connect with my ex’s wife (we are not in the same industry, nor am I connected to my ex) because LinkedIn is a messy bitch who lives for drama, I guess.
Turns out that when someone asks what breed your MIL’s rat dog is, “a mistake” is not the correct answer.
Today, it was overcast and chilly, and a light rain misted my face as I walked. “Wow,” I thought, “I really miss Ireland.”
I tried to explain to my spouse the sensation of trying to eat and drink while wearing a corset and he said “Oh, so you’re off gassing” and now I’m furious at how accurate that is.
