@olafurw if I dont have notifications on when I am on call I lose my job.

So, yes, you are lucky your income doesn't depend on notifications.

Edit: lucky and privileged. Even moreso considering you couldnt imagine a world where you couldnt force those around you to cater to your dislike of notifications.

@olafurw You are very lucky to be in that position.
@olafurw no thank you lol
A Democrat's Guide to Trump

We need to begin extending grace to those we disagree. In doing so we might begin to understand them

@olafurw youtube only started caring about copyright infringement when they got threatened with legal action.

They are not going to outright say they don't care about small players copyrights, but they don't. They make money either way and this system is to them a necessary evil of doing business. One they are going to invest as little time into as possible, and that means blindly trusting the big players and putting minimal effort into resolving issues by small ones.

@olafurw the big kicker is they won't tell you why they won't tell you.
@[email protected] @lnwirz @olafurw if that's actually the reason it sounds like they subscribe to the 1984 "limit their vocab and they won't think or do bad stuff" school of thought.
I annotated Biden's recent speech at the Brookings Institute. It is wild and infuriating. He advocates for US hegemony and seems to think every country on earth is on board. He proudly states that his 36 years as senator were spent representing corporate interests.

Biden's Brookings Institution Speech is Full of Bull

Biden recently spoke at the Brookings Institution, in, what I can only describe as a victory lap designed to inflate his ego with Trump levels of myopia

@srysrysry @olafurw damn, you guys too?
@ZachWeinersmith Napolean was a big touchstone for a lot of historians. We forget about him now because he was overshadowed by WW2, but everyone was quite scared, enough to prompt the US to look into developing an early warning optical telegraph in case he decided to cross the Atlantic.
