@Natanox @omgubuntu Honestly, I find new ones better. The grey of the old ones seemed out of place to me.
@jellycrystals You're telling me you've never devoted three days to tinker with something only to realise you'd made no progress whatsoever? Worth it.
@jellycrystals According to the author it ”provides detailed insights into app compatibility whether you’re using ROMs without Google Play Services (like LineageOS) or ROMs with microG (such as CalyxOS). It helps you identify which apps work, don’t work or have limited features.
All the information is crowdsourced by the community, for the community.”
@jellycrystals @tip I'd check FDroid. There's some really great stuff there. AntennaPod for podcasts (streaming and local), Voice for audiobooks (local), Phonograph and Vinyl for local mp3s, Nova Media Player is a local video player with a VOD-like UI, Tubular is really great for YouTube. I use all of them except for Phonograph and Vinyl which got replaced by Finamp after I put together a home server with Jellyfin.
@tip @jellycrystals Yeah, well, what can you do. I guess it's similar to the situation with gaming on Linux. The commercial solutions need to catch up. They're almost there on Linux, so I guess sooner or later the same will happen for degoogled Android.
@jellycrystals Interesting. Looks like different banks use different approaches. I just checked my Bank here and it shows gold on MicroG. Is yours in the database? https://plexus.techlore.tech/apps
Crowdsourced de-Googled Android apps status ratings

Remove the fear of Android app compatibility on de-Googled devices.

@tip @jellycrystals Everything works. I installed MicroG and even my banking app didn't complain.
@jellycrystals Congrats!
@jellycrystals Their instructions are quite comprehensive and well written. You'll be fine even without the video. Just read them before starting so that you encounter nothing unexpected. Years ago I flashed an Xperia XZ3 without prior reading because I live dangerously. Works till this day.
