Also, I probably have the most neatly soldered #44CON badge because I brought all the parts home and did my first ever non-stencilled hotplate surface mount soldering with some of the equipment I’ve accumulated for it. It’s much more zen than fighting with a soldering iron and going cross-eyed.
Well that went pretty well #44CON
Thanks security industry.

More fiddling around with the #FlipperZero and I’ve got what I hope are the beginnings of a #zigbee sniffer board using the insides of an IKEA Trådfri smart home switch flashed with micropython using @th’s prior work.

Built an NRF42 module for the Flipper Zero.

Fiddly shit on protobard because with the headers I had available you essentially have to avoid having anything protruding at all on the bottom side, and like an idiot I soldered the modules and headers on first rather than actually planning where I was going to put the wires. But that’s also kind of good because I managed to rework a bunch of stuff that looked like it was fucked, so that’s the learning bit :)

The nRF24 was the first thing to show up in the post today so I figured I’d get on and test it but I didn’t have any m-f DuPont cables lying around so I used some from a logic probe hooked up to some headers I plugged into the top of the flipper.

Looking forward to getting this on the protoboard.

After BSidesLdn announced that they were giving away Flipper Zeroes as a CTF prize I promised myself I’d ask for one for Christmas to avoid getting nerd sniped by the CTF.

There’s something incredibly compelling about the device, and I’ve been learning all holiday. I’ve got a GPS module in the post to solder onto the WiFi dev board so I can test it out for wardriving. My Alfa is still more effective for WiFi stuff but this is a much more *fun* platform.
