Thanks Zoe, it's 5:40am, i've been lying in bed for hours trying to sleep thinking about how i could have been better and done better today and i needed to hear this.

@maloki

if you haven't do so already, i would recommend teaching them about science before social justice.

Here's a link to the author of a series of children's books about science's website: https://csferrie.com/books/

It's great you're thinking of their education at such a young age. Kudos.

@hugh @Andrea

Thanks hugh.

I think i'll not vote.

My reasoning is: i don't want any of my preferences given to either major party.

It's not really ceding power to fascists, it's demonstrating i will not participate in a corrupt system.

@NOCARRIER

It's easier to condemn than think.

National socialism and love of freedom, a common enemy of both the Nazis and Social Democrats, would have been a formidable opponent of national socialism, were that not the fate of the world in 1941.

For the sake of the United States and its people this nation is a strong country. We are a strong nation because of these facts. We have great national defense and we can afford to be very careful. We have no need for a strong and powerful Europe to hold back us from fighting, fighting, fighting the greatest man. We would do well to be prepared to wage war.

The people around us are working hard to help us carry on a noble war, that, at long last, will provide relief to millions of distressed and suffering European peoples without any further contribution. In that war we can carry on with the ideals which once dominated the hearts and minds of Europe, that a nation of free people should exist to defend freedom. This is a war of and on defamation.

You are free to block any server. As noted earlier, you feel an obligation to protect your users, which is admirable.

However, i must say, as I've been a RuneScape Moderator, that there is a greater responsibility and obligation. This is of each and every individual to, for themselves, determine what they wish to engage, ignore, or negate.

In RuneScape each player has an ignore list to which they may add who they feel are problematic players. On Mastodon we have block lists.

Each person has a different idea of what is problematic! Trust your users with their reason. Trust your users with their curiosity. Trust your users with their own upright judgement. Trust your users with love. Let them go.

Think of the richness and diversity of experiences which will be had when millions, billions, migrate from Facebook.

We will unconstruct all oppression, all together.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm deciding whether to a) do an invalid vote b) not vote at all or c) vote for the Animal Justice Party

What do you think?

@downey @spacekookie

Are you implying there's no value in what Purism is doing?

It takes work to set up the services.

I would probably have bought Librem One had it been released this time last year, but I've now set up my own services using free software.

I think selling convenience and Free Software together to individuals who don't have the time, know-how, understanding, or interest to set up their own Free Software services is worthy of being admired as a principled action to bring Free Software to the masses.

@brainblasted

Individuals have the power to block if they don't have the patience necessary to respond with compassion.

Why do you think server admins should be making such a decision for everyone on the server?
