Is there a way to disable controller touchpads using a GUI?
I just realized the only way to get new gamers to care about Jak is to release a "remastered" version, which sucks.
The games look great even to this day. I’m personally a huge fan of PS2 graphics and how it forced artists to rely on style rather than “realism.” It’s pathetic how resources will need to be wasted on making a remastered version of something that doesn’t even need it just so a new audience can participate in a mini hype cycle. Maybe it won’t be until we’re 60 and we realize that the best games are the ones that stand the test of time, similar to movies. Too many people are still in their adolescent phase of gaming where the only things worth playing are the things released current year.
Are there any lemmy communities that punish people for abusing the report system?
In Runescape, if you abuse the report function to try and punish a player that isn’t breaking any rules, you’re the one who’s punished instead. It’s a great system that causes people to think before they hit report. Most other services don’t do this, and it results in ‘dogpiling’ reports. This means that people will report someone because they disagree or don’t like them, and if enough people do that then the mods will ban that person “just because.” Are there any lemmy communities that try to combat this nonsense by penalizing those who abuse the report system? I’d love to see the scumbags who try to use censorship to support their own agenda get a taste of their own medicine.
Do you think we will end up with a universal language someday?
Disclaimer: I just want to say I love the design of lemmy and whoever had a hand in it should pat themselves on the back.
Lemmy also doesn’t follow modern design trends like ‘infinite scrolling’ and even makes better decisions than reddit where clicking on a thread, you know, opens the thread instead of what the thread links to.
I fucking hate modern design and modern designers.
Is the Streisand Effect dead?
Will all these multiplayer games being released without support for LAN or hosting our own servers will no longer be playable with others when the company shuts down the servers?
Seems like there’s going to be a point where people are noticing the games they spent money on don’t work as they should anymore because the servers get shut down. How would you feel if most of the multiplayer games you spent money on suddenly stopped being multiplayer because the business decided it’s not worthwhile for them to keep the servers running?
Does anyone know how to get screen capture working in OBS on Wayland?
