Happy PRIDE Month, y’all! 🏳️🌈❤️🏳️⚧️ We remember all those who have fought + sacrificed their lives for us - many of whom were black + brown trans folx. We continue to work for a better tomorrow so that all people - no matter the color of your skin, who you love, or how you identify - can safely live OUT + PROUD! Our commitment to inclusion + justice continues throughout the year - not just for one month.
We celebrated the baptism of Garrison Baker (they/she) and welcomed them into our Glendale Family in worship yesterday! Giving thanks to God that Garrison gave us a chance to become their new church home + family to be on this journey of faith + life together!
From Garrison: “I am happy to have finally found a church home at Glendale and look forward to the many friendships that will blossom in time.” We do too! 💜
“The time is always right to do what is right.” - The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
We are excited to announce that Austin Shaw (he/him) is our new Music Director + Staff Pianist!
A little about him: “I was born and raised in Washington, Illinois and have earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in piano performance. During the day, I am a staff accompanist/professor of music theory at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. I’m so excited to contribute my music to this welcoming and inclusive community!”
We not only welcomed John + Ashley into our church family this morning, but celebrated the Baptism of JJ into the body of Christ. 💙 We are so thankful that we get to be on this journey of faith + life alongside them!
“As we prepared to grow our family, we knew we wanted to find a church that values inclusion and is a place of refuge for all God's children. We’ve been visiting Glendale and are so happy to find such a welcoming church family.”
We were SO excited to welcome Becky + Josh into our Glendale Family yesterday in worship + give thanks to God to be able to walk alongside them on this journey of faith + life!
“After our first service at Glendale during Pride Month, we were hooked! It had been a loooong time since we left a church service feeling uplifted and loved. We feel truly grateful to have found this precious group of people and to be welcomed into this community.”
