A bit off-beat with this post here. I changed out a carbon block water filter here in Edmonton. Filter was positioned first to deal with the municipal water before moving on to other appliances.
Normally - at most - I'd expect the weight of the carbon block to be heavier with whatever it captured. I'm surprised and stumped at finding this slimy, translucent stuff covering the used block.
