A lot people seem to think so! It's widely used as a "people power" salute. Started in the Spanish Civil War I believe.

I go between, though this time Android is likely to stick, in no small part due to Symfonium. Apple has moved on from lightning, though of course that requires more recent phones, few of which have come onto the second hand market.
I'm curious as to how your new device might be less addictive though?
@mawe Oh and I use Whatsapp (not Google obviously, but still gross) for our local dog park group 🤢
@mawe No sweat! I've found de-googling has been a slow process. I still use my gmail account for a couple of things. I converted my family to Telegram instead of Hangouts, which isn't perfect, but it's easier than Matrix. Small steps!
