I’ve decided to say goodbye to Twitter with this handle. Twitter started as a way to connect with #GayTwitter. Then #MedTwitter #LGBTQinHealthcare and #TherapyTwitter. I’m so fortunate for the connections, but it felt necessary to preserve my privacy. This handle was never meant to conceal my identity from my gayness—I’m openly gay. It was meant to allow me to discuss social issues, vent about politics, and have unfiltered moments without retaliation in the conservative state I live in.
