This is true although that’s what enforcing strict typing from your linter is supposed to help with. I think it’s partially an issue that you can kinda just type what you think and not everyone thinks efficiently/ programmer-y
Yeah that’s fair, I definitely appreciate the way pathfinder allows you to have far more diverse characters within even the same class and you can do a lot more on your turns. I’ve played a lot of 5e and yeah it definitely gets a bit repetitive if you’re a minmaxxer or someone who grasps the game really well. I’ll have to look at the system for WoD just out of curiosity. I think it’s the sacrifice of appealing to as many players as possible. I’ve dmed enough new players that even 5e is really difficult for character creation.
The ensloppening of some of my favorite tools begins?

> Today, AI is rapidly changing the way we build software, and the pace of that
change is only accelerating. If our goal is to make programming more productive,
then building at the frontier of AI and software feels like the highest-leverage
thing we can do. > > It is increasingly clear to me that Codex is that frontier.
And by bringing Astral’s tooling and expertise to OpenAI, we’re putting
ourselves in a position to push it forward. After joining the Codex team, we’ll
continue building our open source tools, explore ways they can work more
seamlessly with Codex, and expand our reach to think more broadly about the
future of software development.

I got what you meant but what is it that you would want? What’s an example of character creation you like?
What do you mean by there’s no character creation exactly? I’m not sure I understand what you think is missing there. I will die on the hill that 4e is far worse. Also I actually don’t mind the lack of exploration for example I homebrew almost everything anyway I’m running Daggerheart currently. There’s plenty for combat if you treat combat as a group exercise instead of a solo one although yeah martial is a bit lacking
I’d love for you to explain what you mean. I’m not exactly thrilled about wizards themselves but 5e is fine. I do prefer other systems but to say it’s the worst is insane given 4e exists.
Man haven’t watched him in a while. I watched a lot of his Xcom 2 stuff back in the day before I could play, but I started to get pissed because it felt like watching my dad take a million years on a board game turn and make a terrible decision lmao. He’s a pretty solid YouTuber though.
Just use something open source like Jan. Or hack together a quick gui yourself for Ollama or something
