The first 20 years of the internet was STRONGLY federated & open. Then money showed up & we got screwed out of that & conned into corporate silos where VCs could parasite their way to billions.

Then the money (that guy) showed up (Twitter) & screwed things up AGAIN. This time, though, we're resetting things BACK to federated.

While there are some well-intentioned (& many ill-intentioned) privately owned Twitter alternatives, this is a "fool me once" situation.

The fediverse is our best bet.
