Bis auf wenige Ausnahmen wünschte ich, die Wahlkampfteams der Bundestagswahl hätten meinen zwar etwas betagten, aber weiterhin gültigen Artikel zu „Schrift in der Wahlwerbung“ gelesen. Trotz achtlos ausgewählter Fonts, ich werde wählen.

Fontwerk 2.0 – the new website https://fontwerk.com, the new Base License, the new Trial Fonts and the new Education License – feels like my biggest project so far. I hope this is not a question of age … ;) I am so happy that it’s finally out. Huge thank you to everyone involved!

One of the most important projects for me personally, and ultimately one of the projects that gave Fontwerk its identity, is my good friend @koeberlin’s continuously growing #PangeaTypeface. We have just published version 3, which contains three narrower widths.

I’m already looking forward to the next updates.

Even after all these years, it is always an exciting moment to release a typeface into the world. In the end, the work you put in together as a team* is always much greater than you initially think.

When I saw McQueen (then still ‘Phily’) for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the typeface. Unsurprisingly, McQueen went on to become one of the most popular fonts in the Fontwerk library. So it was clear that we would now give it an extensive update and extension. Now McQueen 2.0 is finally complete and I can hardly wait to see it used in the wild.
