Today, February 16, in 2009, Coraline and her mother shop for a school uniform in a Presidents' Day sale. Coraline wants to buy some cool striped knitted gloves, but her mom won't let her get them—so Coraline decides to appeal to her Other Mother (Coraline, 2009)

The cat just went over to the HomePod mini on my desk, meowed at it, and Siri said "sure here is some music for you" and the cat perched on the window sill listening to Garbage and Elliott Smith.

I just want to know how long this has been going on.

Wow! #toebeantuesday is a thing here. How delightful. Here is my most recent bean sighting!

I've been trying to wake up earlier this year! It's been giving me and Negroni more snuggle time in the mornings. Behold, snugglemonster in full form.

I kinda love when non-bird people only use the male coloration of birds in their designs and unknowingly give us decorations featuring gay birds.

Best decisions of the morning!

- Took the trash out
- Added roasted broccolini & ricotta & hot sauce to my eggs for breakfast
- Melted butter to prep for cinnamon roll filling
- Adjusted my reading chair to face the window so my cat & I could watch the trees sway in the storm

And that's it. That's been my past 2 hours because Negroni the cat has fallen asleep on my tummy and I feel like it would be a crime to move and disrupt her.

Today in Italy we celebrate the Befana, a holiday of pagan origins that celebrated female deities who gave fertility by flying over fields. Starting from the 4th century AD, the Church demonized these deities, labeling them as witches (even today, in some Italian squares the witch's bonfire of the Befana takes place after a mock trial). Despite the persecution, Befana has survived to this day, although it has been transformed into a ugly and old witch. #Befana #Italy #happynewyear
The poem I wrote, which @michaelsheen orated most magically, for the 150th Birthday of the Albert Hall is now up on the @UncannyMagazine website, at https://www.uncannymagazine.com/article/the-hole-thing/

Now, let us gather to imagine the future. Here, in the Central Hall of Arts and Sciences as it was, before Victoria laid the first stone. Here, where the dead were annually raised, implored, exhorted, ectoplasmically embraced, Here, where Hiawatha musically wed, and Os-Ke-Non-Ton sang the medicine man, to Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s once-loved score, Here where […]

Toilet troubles. The office toilets flush with little to no gusto.

Somebody definitely walked in on me scolding our work toilet and going, "YOU HAVE ONE JOB!"

One of my few New Years traditions is to read and share the New Years wishes from @neilhimself. Here's the one from 2014 (Be Kind), which seems extra appropriate this year on social media, and the one from 2011 (Make Mistakes), which is my favorite.
