@steve @alex I see, but due to these API prices, no one has an incentive to make a bridge. I am looking forward to see meta defederate a bunch of instances because of their naughty opinions or even defederating with the rest of the fediverse, like Gab did

@kkarhan true, but the fact that just one individual can control what more than just their instance can see is concerning.

imagine being a user who just learnt of one of these corrupt blocklists and can't find a way to convince their server admin to stop using the blocklist so you migrate to another server and they use the same blocklist.

I respect instance administrators like Bogdan from mstdn.ro who don't obey these blocklists.

the solution is to just stop with the blocklists because the fediverse isn't truly free unless we stop blindly trusting these blocklists.
