Wooden spoons and weaving.
Fern?
I'm gonna guess either a sheep or a goat
My second spoon for march #spoonquest2026.
A spoon for all the world leaders out there, a mantra to live by.
Also, a commentary on the way leaders speak and their actions, if you're a spork/spoon carver, you'll know what I mean 🤣.
Such a peaceful video, and that mossy forest😍
What do I love about spoon carving? The fact that only yesterday this bit of wood was a tree, trying to live its best life. A home to birds and many insects and spiders, it got blown down in a storm and today I carved it into a beautiful functional work of art.
That's what I love about spoon carving....... and playing with axes, let's not forget the axes!

The second to last photo shows the inside of the branch and a friendly weta that had made it home. And yes I did jump a little when I saw him!
Some splated oak, harvested in 2021 I think and resting in the wood pile ever since
I'm sure if I tried that I would break it for 😃
That's super impressive!
I carved these two today. I'm enjoying this Sycamore.

Haven't carved for a few days (feels like weeks!) but a few trees got cut down at work on the weekend and I can't help myself when there's new wood to carve! It's some kind of Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus?)
