"The tower? The tower? Rapunzel! Rapunzel!" -Jacobs, Airplane (19890)
@neilhimself I've decided I'm going back to writing as a full-time endeavor.
As part of this, I'm designing a space that I feel will motivate me. But, I'm wondering what sort of desk I should consider.
1. Standing? Doctors might state that a standing desk is the most healthy. But, not as comfortable if trying to relax.
2. Level? Comfortable, but might not be great for blood circulation.
3. Modern? Mid-Century? Honestly, this is just as hard.
What kind of desk do you favor?
Confused why people use the term #shrinkflation to describe how corporations are ripping you off?! Take a look at these two boxes of Oreo Mint Thins. The first is the old size (371g) and the one on the bottom is the new one (334g). Notice how they both say "Family Size". Yet if you look at the comparable nutrition tables, you'll see you've lost a serving. This is an example of #fraud.
Let me state the obvious here. There are two classifications of pet owners. Those with and those without children.
Those with children, hopefully, love their pets as much as their children.
Meanwhile, those without children better fucking love the shit out of those pets!
#catsofmastodon Normally, I'm unfiltered. And, well, I'm gonna be unfiltered again.
This morning, after finally getting an x-ray, the doctors revealed that my 14-year-old has a lump in his lungs. This marks the saddest point in my day and my life, again. The last time I had to put a pet down was in 2018.
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/04/supreme-court-rules-in-trump-colorado-ballot-case.html Here's what perplexes me about this. Now, this is a stretch, but why is THIS not a state's right but meanwhile the Voting Rights Act is considered overreach by the government?
SCOTUS already stated that Congress doesn't have the right to enforce voting access, in multiple cases. Which means, state's can reduce hours and access even during a presidential election year. So, why is SCOTUS suddenly concerned about protecting a pres. right to be on the ballot? *shrug.
https://boston.eater.com/2024/2/26/24083939/table-north-end-restaurant-cancellation-fees-viral-customer-exchange In reading the back and forth, it's clear that I would never get a reservation at a place like this. Also, I'm curious if businesses should have a 0 tolerance policy towards cancellation. I mean, if you are dead or deathly-ill and can't make it, why charge them for a no show? That's assuming you fill the seat, anyway.

The controversy involves Jen Royle, the chef and owner behind North End Italian restaurant Table, and a customer who cancelled his reservation in January

What to know about how a court ruling that frozen embryos are children could affect IVF

The Alabama Supreme Court recently ruled that frozen embryos can be considered children under state law. This is raising concerns about how the decision could affect in vitro fertilization, commonly known as IVF. The fertility treatment involves retrieving a woman's eggs and combining them with a man's sperm in a lab dish. A few days after fertilization, one or more embryos are placed in the uterus and healthy embryos that are not transferred may be frozen and stored. Frozen embryos can be used for future pregnancies, and are stored at places such as hospital labs or reproductive medicine centers.
