Watching things burn from a safer distance
I recently added support for multiple expansions, rather than all play at once they delay slightly from each other to give a chorus effect 😀
Ordered the first batch of parts to make 50 DECTalk hexpansions for #emfcamp! They’ll be in partial kit form and will need some very basic soldering to complete
So it looks like ESPNow is enabled in the latest badge firmware, so it’s possible to do a “chorus” of DECTalk hexpansions using WiFi broadcasts. It works between these two devices at least
@jarkman nope, I cheated and used a second esp32 that runs DECTalk Mini. The badge just throws phonemes at it over I2C. The upside is you can go use this for other non-badge things too
@sevencoil it is! I managed to write an esp idf component file for it, had to disable a lot of compiler warnings but it worked first time with both i2s and PWM outputs
Well, they work! Only one minor problem (guess who forgot the “hello I am a badge please give me power” pin?). Next step is to make some small clips for the speaker and order a bunch more boards
