@hotdogsladies @_IanOfEarth That does make a lot of sense. I need to try it. Most of the time I’m looking at the cashiers and trying to make a judgement call on who is moving fast and less chatty. I feel like I can synthesize these two strategies. Although most days now we’re left with a long self checkout line and no actual registers open.

@hotdogsladies It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who always talked to our babies like adults. I still do it. This morning in Home Depot, the 7 year old asked, “Why do they put out all the Christmas stuff?” I answered, “Like I’ve told you before, they want to put pressure on people to buy more and more things.” I did stop short of saying “That’s how they getcha.”
