One of the birds we’re looking after is Xander. He was found over Christmas with human hair wrapped around his leg, which created a deep wound and his foot was nearly dead, he could not put weight on it.
My wife the wound nurse removed all the hair, the vet placed him on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds, and we clean the wound every third day.
Meanwhile he can put weight on it and walk around with it again, and soon he can go to Måkevakta’s facilities where he can swim.

I've been feeding his family for almost 4 years, since the start of the pandemic. They're family at this point, doing our best to help him through this 🥹
One of the neighborhood crows, Teddy, was found with an injury on his foot, and is currently going through rehabilitation (at our place).
We're hopeful he'll pull through, but he'll need a few vet visits and possibly also surgery on his toe.

They’re a local gull (and other sea/water bird) rehabilitation center, completely volunteer driven 🫶🏻
I’ve been helping out with taking care of the birds the past months, and yesterday I caught gull Victoria, who we suspect was shot by someone and had to go to the vet today for x-rays 🤒
Noah has been delivered to rehab and renamed to Jumpy because they already had a Noa 🫣
He was doing a lot better today, jumped on the bath tub and followed along with what we were up to. Good luck little Jumpy-man 🫡
There was yet another sick gull in our street.
On Monday I caught one and drove it to gull rehab, and today I helped catch a second one, who’s currently resting in my bathtub until a spot at rehab becomes available for him 🥹
