I stripped this cast iron bandsaw shell with a *power washer* today. Another restoration project. A Sprunger brand bandsaw, if yer asking.

I am blessed to have a really great machining mentor. Last night, I had him over for Nepalese food at the work table and an evening of (successfully!) problem-solving the disassembly of a century-old machine, fueled by our collective ingenuity, wonder, and joy.

Corny? Maybe. But growing up, I stayed away from this stuff because, well, dudes. I’m so glad I overcame and found my people.

Machines are the best.

I stopped the more functional restoration work to polish some metal. Got me excited all over again to see this project through. The polished handles are seen here next to their unpolished peers.
