Singapore has so much to offer. Cheap and good local food, a safe, clean and orderly society. Low income tax and no capital gain tax. However, the weather is terrible. While Melbourne is known for having four seasons in one day, it’s still far more comfortable than living in a never-ending sauna...

Street cats in Makati City, Philippines

@vkc I hope I was wrong but it seems most people choose convenience over everything else. (Privacy, security, accuracy etc.)

What needs to improve?

1. Cropping is pretty bad. The `auto` mode gets turned off when I need to reposition.
2. Perspective, distortion correction are not so great. I guess they put the better version in viewpoint 4
3. Keyboard shortcuts can't be customized.
4. I can't select what edits I want to copy. I am forced to copy ALL edits and then select (in a pop up dialog box) what to paste for every single photo. (biggest let down for me)
5. Local adjustments are quite laggy on my machine.

I ended up getting the DxO Photolab 8 + filmepack 7 to replace Lightroom.

What I like?
1. NO SUBSCRIPTION! No need to install a bloody xxx cloud junk on my machine.
2. I don't need to use catalogue. My edits sits right next to the raw files.
3. Colour rendering is great. The default Natural rendering works great for my Sony photos which are always a bit gray. Not so much for my fuji photos.
4. Smart lighting is brilliant.

Some cats we came across during the holiday.

@SilverRainbow I used CaptureOne Express for a while when I got my X100V. It was not bad but I don't think I can justify spending $457.00 on it... 😭

I cancelled my Adobe subscription (Lightroom) recently and I am looking for a new one that offers perpetual license.

DxO Photolab seems to be a good alternative. CaptureOne is just too expensive.

What do you currently use and any recommendations?
