wtf, just read Purism's new article where they ""explain"" why their instance doesn't have a local+federated timeline.

They talk about a ton of nasty stuff that birdsite does, which aren't relevant to Mastodon at all. Then it all boils down to (direct quote):

"The downside to local and federated timelines is that there are also a bunch of posts you aren’t interested in from people you don’t want to follow. You don’t opt in to that feed so when it gets content that you particularly find offensive, distasteful, or not aligned with your views there’s little recourse unless your opinion of undesirable content happens to match those of the central moderators."

first of all, you do opt-in to looking at those feeds, you can just uhh, not go to those tabs.

secondly it's another effect of their previous stance, where it seems they want to make money off librem one, *without* doing any moderation.

Opt-IN, No Ads, and No Tracking Solve a Lot of Problems in Society – Purism

Purism makes premium phones, laptops, mini PCs and servers running free software on PureOS. Purism products respect people's privacy and freedom while protecting their security.

they're also part of the SciCraft server, which is just absolutely amazing, and incredibly overengineering everything in minecraft

I fell down the rabbit hole of *super* technical minecraft, especially from ilmango.

I'm struggling to find an intuitive UX/UI to send (multiple) files and images from my messaging client.
I thought of having a bar like this, where files get added, and can be removed with the x.

But keeping the text input field brings the question which image you are captioning? or caption both? or send a separate message?

same goes for replying to another message, should all separate files be replying to that event? only the first one?

Thoughts and boosts much appreciated

Seeing what happened with Librem really made me reconsider licensing my projects under something like the #CSL (https://lynnesbian.space/csl/) again :/

I've been told it's not "proper" free software anymore, due to the restrictions it adds.
