Some WIPs from a new series about the scars left behind by meandering river systems.
@lauxmyth It is more of a physics experiment than a scientifically rigorous data visualization. Each quake spawns as a sphere whose size = magnitude. After being spawned, they roll down steep hills, get pushed away by other spheres, etc. Hopefully, you get a decent sense of quantity/magnitude as well as getting an intuition about how drastic the increase was around October 26th.

I made an automatic animation system for this head. It is very simple but the secondary motion pretends that it is complex.

Some days it seems like I am the only digital artist that hasn't had work on a Times Square billboard.

Probably for the best, since I'd hate to actually have to go to Times Square to see it in person :)
