Looks like r/programming discovered the astroturfing, so in true Reddit fashion they simply shut down the subreddit entirely to avoid the spread of negative public sentiment. Thanks for galvanizing my resolve to migrate to the fediverse, Spez
Reddit seems to be scrambling behind the scenes to try and limit the effects of the migration. Damage control: ChatGPT bots are spamming pro-admin, astroturfed comments

[Request] Option to disable vote swipe gestures - Lemmy.world
Hey, firstly - I absolutely love this app. Absolutely wonderful UI+UX, and a
huge thank-you for the new OLED dark theme option. One thing that could improve
the UX for some users (myself included) would be an toggle to disable swipe
gestures on comments, allowing you to swipe left to right from anywhere on the
comments page to return to your feed. If I’m browsing comments holding my phone
right handed, and swipe to return I find myself consistently voting
unintentionally since the swipe activation area is only a thin section at the
left edge of the display. It’s one of the only features I’ve been pining for
since the loss of Apollo (I suppose that outs me as a reddit refugee…the horror)
This option is a very minor QOL feature tbh and certainly I understand that many
more important features take priority over something like that, but figured I’d
make the suggestion nonetheless since it could help accessibility and further
refine what is already a quite seamless browsing experience. Thanks again for an
excellent app, devs, and here’s to a bright future for both Lemmy and Memmy 🥳
