@delProfundo yeah Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast is probably even worse, it’s sad and a bit confounding. With the trump/dutton/crisafulli gang giving them fuel it’s a disturbing outlook.
@quixoticgeek @ebel yep that’s my take on it too
@sdw nice! I’m look forward to coming across my old Photoshop beta floppy as I clean stuff out. Too bad I don’t have the computer to run it anymore. No – actually I hoard enough stuff, I don’t need more old computers around.
Peter Dutton is Australia’s figurehead of fear and fake news, like Trump but without charisma

From geopolitics to the voice the Liberal leader is a political fabulist, dishing up provocations to get voters’ attention and using a deadly crisis to monster foesGet our morning and afternoon news emails, free app or daily news podcast

@BinChicken anything but a No landslide should put a lot of pollsters out of a job – here’s hoping.
I was surprised in a visit to Canada when settling a #restaurant #bill that the staff would commonly ask if we’d like to split the bill, then impressed that it was no trouble at all and they had each diner’s orders ready to total.
Why is it that asking for a restaurant to split a bill in #Australia is such a hassle and menus often state ‘no split bills’?
Why do the likes of YouTube etc list subscriber numbers and ‘like’ and view counts that are bought from services selling these?
Do they double dip by owning the companies selling the subs/likes/views and then benefit from inflated advertising stats?
What point is there for a publisher to buy views, likes and subs?

@mimic females often have better verbal skills and better social skills that make diagnosis more difficult or later.
@PavelASamsonov I get a little bit interested when I read cheeseburger on a menu, and then it clicks that they don’t mean cheeseburger they mean meat burger with cheese added.
Why does cheese get naming rights over a meat burger ahead of any other ingredient, including the meat?
