@marcelias Because Mastodon doesn’t advertise, doesn’t have algorithms to target your interests, doesn’t have influencers and does suggest which celebrities you should follow. And I only see posts from the accounts I follow.
@Teri_Kanefield Incredibly grateful that legal document line spacing is mostly double spaced. And incredible grateful to you for sharing the documents and your legal expertise!
@jaykuo I’ve been reading or listening to the Sean Duffy novels by Adrian McKinty, which are about a Northern Irish DI in the Royal Ulster Constabulary and set in the 1980’s during The Troubles. After finish the last novel, it made me start to wonder if the U.S. is at the start of its own version of The Troubles, as the author, who is from Northern Ireland and grew up there during that time, describes the terror of that time in great detail.
@bronakins@Teri_Kanefield I signed on to sfba.social a few months ago, Alexis Madrigal from KQED is on that server, and I wanted to start following him. The Mastodon experience was glitchy at first, but it seems to have settled down.
@rbreich Although I’m in the Bay Area, and not of childbearing age anymore, I’m inclined to stop going to the Walgreens 3 blocks from my place. Of course, I will be screwed if CVS makes the same decision in Red States. WTF. 🤦♀️
@Bookworm33333@Teri_Kanefield Thanks for all the info, Lisa! I joined Spoutable as it is organized more like twitter, so I’m taking a wait and see attitude on whether I stay or not. I find that I actually check Mastodon first, then Spoutable, and I’m avoiding twitter altogether (made my account private).
