πŸ“’πŸ“§ Introducing a pretty big feature update! Email digests are now officially available to everyone during the public beta. You can subscribe to up to 3 different searches with the same email address, and receive newsletter-like updates in your inbox.

Go, check them out, and share your feedback with us: https://feedle.world/

πŸ“’ From one social media profile, to four! If your blog or podcast is in our index, you can now connect up to four different social profiles to it, so people on each of the networks can follow you more easily.

The procedure is still rather manual, so if you want links attached to your posts, please DM those to us. Supported services: Mastodon/Fedi, Bluesky, Threads, and Instagram.

One of our hot topic searches right now - "Liquid Glass": https://feedle.world/search?query=%22liquid%20glass%22&type=blog

Grab the RSS feed to stay connected with the latest community developments.

We are so, so happy that more than a thousand of you decided to give us a small vote of confidence and follow Feedle's journey on Mastodon! Thank you so much! πŸ™

It's a sign that people who love independent writing and #blogging are far more than the few dozen β€œold school folks” that mainstream social media wants us to think of ourselves.

We are many, and we are strong!

Next milestone - 2000. See you there! πŸš€

πŸ‘€ 🎧

Something that has been highly anticipated by our users, is finally in the making, and we can’t wait to show it to you soon.

By separating blog posts from podcast episode results, we will be able to highlight on the unique features of each. For example, providing podcast search results with their own podcast-player-ready RSS feeds. The same idea as before, but now in your podcast palyer of choice. How cool is that.

Stay tuned ✌️

πŸ“’ This is a small, but useful design improvement. We have made it easier to refine search results with respect to their sources.

With a single click, one can now:

- filter anything but the results that match a certain source.
- remove an entire source from our list of search results.

Of course, the RSS feed links will reflect those changes, too.

We hope that thse tiny interactions will be a step forward towards improving the quality of results, and increasing your appetite for exploration.

πŸ“’ 🎨 Here is a small quality-of-life design update that will make it into Feedle very soon.

Right now, content density is becoming a problem, since, the more actions we bring in, the more difficult it would be for the user to find what they are looking for. In the upcoming version, the action section will be taken up the card, with a margin that separates it from the rest. The source profile link will turn into a drop-down menu, which will allow us to add some highly needed search filters.

Do you find these icons useful for finding and following your favorite bloggers on Mastodon?

So do we. We are currently doing a bit of a redesign of the row to bring in a couple more actions, but fear not - we will make sure that these remain just as prominent as they are now.

What a weekend! And yet, our machines handled the #hackernews load like champs! πŸ’ͺ

Here are some stats for the techy geeks:

We run feedle as a cluster of load-balanced container instances across several physical servers rented on #Hetzner. We've generously given each instance enough CPU, and yet, despite the HN rush, it barely registered. That's all thanks to the clever choice of backend technology, and using async wherever possible.
